Born and raised in Southern California, as a first generation Iranian-American, Dahlia Foroutan majored in photography before redirecting her focus to fashion and later pursuing a career as a costume designer for film and television. Having helped to create memorable characters on film, TV and in musical tours, her work includes The Wayans Bros., My Wife and Kids and Hannah Montana.
While traveling the world, Dahlia has taken the opportunity to return to her first love and capture the essence of countless cultures. Often seeing beyond the blinding poverty, to bring to life the beauty within the darkness, she hopes that her work moves and inspires others to travel and search the world for it’s hidden splendor.
My background in fashion combined with my deep love for photography results in images with vibrant textures, colors and energy. Whether I am shooting fashion, landscape or people, I love to bring out and highlight the beauty, energy & life in everything I capture.
